The English as an Additional Language (EAL)  program aims to ensure students of all English levels can access the curriculum.

CHIST EAL students are supported in an integrated program which supports students throughout their units of inquiry and core subject areas.

Focusing on learning language in context through a variety of activities, EAL classes at CHIST make use of all four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) and combine traditional learning, creative hands-on projects, and learning through technology.

All teachers at CHIST are language teachers: English language learning can happen in a variety of situations both in and out of the classroom.
