Visual Arts

CHIST students will develop a lifelong engagement with art by mindful, critical practice in various artistic forms.

Students will study a diverse range of art and design across time, place and culture. Students will become informed and critical observers of visual culture, adding to their own confidence and skills as artistic creators.

CHIST students learn through thematic units of study emphasizing inquiry and reflection in cross-curricular lessons.

Students collaborate towards a school-wide art festival, adding service-learning and practical experience to our program.

In the DP, students will document their artistic process in a portfolio while planning and executing an exhibition of their work. Students compose a personal artist statement to reflect their work.
